NENI — OUR STORY

════════════════════════════════════════════
THE NAME
════════════════════════════════════════════
There are two founders.
One is Ne.
One is Ni.
The product is Neni.
Simple as that. Two people who believed that every
Indian family deserves an AI as capable as the ones
built for Silicon Valley executives — and decided to
build it themselves.
════════════════════════════════════════════
WHERE THE STORY BEGINS
════════════════════════════════════════════
Neni was not born in a boardroom.
It was born somewhere between a WhatsApp group and a
hospital waiting room — which, if you are Indian, you
will recognise immediately as two of the most chaotic
and emotionally loaded places on earth.
The WhatsApp group: 47 unread messages. Cousin's wedding
date changed. Dad's flight rescheduled. Someone needs
the school fee receipt. Someone else wants to know if
you're coming Sunday. And buried somewhere in the middle,
a message from Mum that you missed: "Beta, my HbA1c is
high. What does that mean?"
The hospital waiting room: you are there because no one
reminded Dad about his follow-up appointment. Because
the medicine ran out and no one noticed. Because you were
in four different apps trying to track five different
things and everything slipped through the gap between them.
Ne and Ni sat with all of this. Not as a business
problem. As a personal one.
They had seen their own parents struggle with medicine
reminders and bills — not because they were not capable,
but because no technology ever made it easy for them.
They had watched their children fall behind in school
not from lack of intelligence, but from lack of access
to the kind of patient, personalised explanation that
a private tutor would give — if only they could afford
one every day.
They had spent entire evenings switching between twelve
apps to handle what should have been one simple family
emergency. Gmail. WhatsApp. Paytm. PhonePe. Practo.
Zerodha. A PDF. A calculator. A reminder that never fired.
And they had asked Siri. They had asked Alexa. They had
asked Google.
None of them knew what BESCOM was.
None of them had heard of Zerodha.
None of them understood why a family of five in India
does not operate as five individuals — it operates as
one breathing, interdependent organism, held together
by WhatsApp groups and a shared instinct to take care
of each other.
The world's most advanced AI had been built beautifully
for someone else.
════════════════════════════════════════════
THE GAP THEY COULDN'T IGNORE
════════════════════════════════════════════
India has 1.4 billion people.
More than 300 million of them are urban, digitally
active, and spending hours every day managing a life
across a dozen disconnected apps — none of which talk
to each other, none of which know their name, and none
of which were built with their reality in mind.
The irony was not lost on Ne and Ni: the country that
produces more software engineers than anywhere else on
earth did not have a single AI life assistant built
specifically for its own families.
The tools existed. The AI models were extraordinary.
The APIs were open. The infrastructure was ready.
What was missing was someone who cared enough about
the Indian family to connect it all — and build
something that felt less like technology and more like
having a brilliant, patient, always-available person
in your corner.
That is the gap Neni was built to close.
════════════════════════════════════════════
WHAT WE BELIEVE
════════════════════════════════════════════
We believe that world-class AI should not be a luxury.
It should not be something available only to people
who can afford a personal assistant, a financial
advisor, a private tutor, and a health concierge.
It should not be something that works perfectly in
San Francisco but has never heard of an ITR filing
deadline, or a Practo appointment, or the particular
chaos of an Indian family WhatsApp group at 11pm.
We believe that every Indian family — whether in
Gurugram or Guwahati, whether managing a startup or
running a home — deserves an AI that genuinely knows
them, genuinely helps them, and genuinely makes their
daily life lighter.
Not a search bar. Not a chatbot. Not a smart speaker
that needs a specific command phrased just so.
A presence. Someone who pays attention so you don't
have to pay attention to everything.
That is what we are building.
════════════════════════════════════════════
HOW NENI WORKS
════════════════════════════════════════════
You say "Hey Neni."
That is the beginning of every interaction. Two words.
No unlocking. No searching. No switching between apps.
From there, Neni routes your request to one of twenty
specialist agents — a doctor who explains your lab report
in plain language, a finance advisor who reads your
Zerodha portfolio and tells you what matters today,
a teacher who generates a personalised lesson for your
child from a single textbook page, a secretary who has
already read your Gmail and WhatsApp and filtered out
everything that does not need you.
At 7:30 in the morning, before you've had your chai,
Neni gives you everything you need to know about your
day in under two minutes — spoken clearly, in your
language, from a voice you will come to recognise as
the most reliable presence in your household.
At 9pm, it tells you what happened today, what still
needs you tomorrow, and what you can let go of for
the night.
In between, it is quietly watching — not in a way that
feels invasive, but in the way that a trusted person
watches: noticing that the electricity bill is due,
that your mother's medicine refill is running low,
that your child has a school test on Friday, that
the family WhatsApp group has three messages addressed
to you that you haven't seen yet.
It remembers everything you tell it — not stored in a
cold database, but woven into a living memory that
makes every future interaction more useful than the
last.
This is not a feature. This is the product.
The product is a relationship.
════════════════════════════════════════════
WHY THE PRIVACY PROMISE MATTERS TO US
════════════════════════════════════════════
We know what we are asking you to trust us with.
Your family's health records. Your investment portfolio.
Your conversations. Your children's learning.
The private rhythm of your household.
Ne and Ni made a commitment to each other before writing
a single line of code: the people who use Neni will
always be its only customer. Never its product.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with
advertisers. We do not use your family's conversations
to train AI models. Your children's data — especially —
is handled with a standard of care that goes beyond
what any regulation requires, because we are parents
who think about this too.
The wake word detection runs entirely on your device.
No audio travels to any server until you finish saying
"Hey Neni" and begin your command. This was a deliberate
engineering choice, not a coincidence. It costs more
to build. We built it anyway.
Your data is yours. We are just the ones who make it
useful.
════════════════════════════════════════════
THE PEOPLE BUILDING NENI
════════════════════════════════════════════
RAGNES Technologies was founded with one operating
principle: build technology that solves real problems
for real Indian families, and build it to a standard
that can stand next to anything built anywhere in the
world.
The team behind Neni is small, intentional, and deeply
familiar with the lives they are building for — because
those are also their lives.
We are not building Neni from the outside looking in.
We are building it from the inside — from the WhatsApp
groups and the hospital waiting rooms and the midnight
moments of wondering whether Dad took his medication
and whether the school fee payment went through and
whether there is any possible way to give your child
the education they deserve without burning out trying.
We built Neni because we needed it.
We think you do too.
════════════════════════════════════════════
WHERE WE ARE NOW
════════════════════════════════════════════
August 2026. Early access.
The first families are using Neni every day.
Their morning briefs are running. Their children are
learning. Their WhatsApp groups are being summarised.
Their lab reports are being explained. Their portfolios
are speaking to them every morning before the markets open.
We are watching closely. We are listening harder.
Every piece of feedback from this early group is shaping
what Neni becomes — not as a feature roadmap item, but
as a conversation between builders and the people they
are building for.
This is the part of the journey we love most: the gap
between what we imagined and what people actually need,
and the daily work of closing it.
If you are reading this during early access — thank you
for being here at the beginning. You are not just an
early user. You are part of what Neni becomes.
If you are reading this later: welcome. The door is open.
It always will be.
════════════════════════════════════════════
A FINAL WORD FROM NE AND NI
════════════════════════════════════════════
We started with a simple observation:
The Indian family is extraordinary.
It holds more together — across more generations, more
responsibilities, more emotional weight — than almost
any family structure anywhere in the world.
It does this largely without help.
Mostly on WhatsApp.
Often in a hospital waiting room.
We built Neni to be the help that was always missing.
Not to replace the warmth, the chaos, or the love —
but to take the weight of logistics off the people
who are already carrying enough.
Your time is the most finite thing you have.
We just want to give you more of it.
